Credit Card Number on File
I am an independent practitioner, which means that I only get paid when I collect. To keep my schedule and income predictable, I charge a a fee equivalent to the expected session fee for:
- Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance.
- Unexpected missed appointments.
- Unexpected changes in length of time for an appointment.
Payment is due at the time of service. I take a copay, or a negotiated fee when in good faith you are confident that your insurance will pay the balance. If for some reason your insurance benefits do not cover your session, and/or you have not made other arrangements, I will charge the card on file.
I file insurance as a convenience for my clients. It is the client's responsibility to know their insurance benefits. Many insurance plans have a high deductible nowadays and it is wise to investigate this possibility in advance of starting therapy so that you are not surprised by a high bill. If you are behind on your bill and need to negotiate a payment plan, we can talk about that in therapy. On the other hand, I need to collect fees for my services to stay in practice and do not wish to hold balances.
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me. I keep your private information confidential according to HIPPA Guidelines and my billing company is also held to the same standards. Any personal information entrusted to me or them is carefully handled.
